How to Play

Play Sky Battle Ships online for free. Sky Battle Ships is a battleship-inspired strategy game themed after balloons. Take out the balloon ships of your opponents before they do the same to you. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
Select the speaker button to turn the game’s audio on or off.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - With your mouse:
    - Left click and drag to place the balloons on the field.
    - Left click on the opposing field to fire a shot.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - With your fingers:
        Tap and swipe to place the balloons on your field.
        Tap on the opponent’s field to fire.
        Controls and indicators
        The home button is on the top left corner. Use this to return to the welcome screen.
        The speaker button is on the top right corner.
        Game Play
        Phases
        Placement
        Select and drag the balloon “ships” on the 10 x 6 board to place them.
        Each ship is 1 cell wide.
        You have 5 ships which are 2, 3, 3, 4, and 5 cells long.
        Select the rotate button above the balloon ship to change their orientation. You can only do this if there’s ample room to rotate them.
        Attack
        Players attack in turns. The human player goes first, followed by the computer player.
        Select anywhere on the grid on your turn to shoot.
        If you attack part of a ship, the cell will turn green.
        If you miss, the cell appears in red.
        The first player to sink all 5 of the opponents’ ships is the winner.
        You must shoot all but one of the balloons on a ship to sink it.
        Strategy
        Shoot at random until you hit a ship rather than focus on one area at once.
        The game grid has 60 cells. Each of your 5 ships have a length of 5, 4, 3, 3, and 2. This means that 28.33% of the board has a ship. You have about 1 out of 4 chances of hitting a ship at random.
        If you use a pattern, use a diagonal pattern, as most ships have at least 3 balloons.
        When you do find a ship, shoot within the vicinity to determine where the next segment might be & repeat the process until the ship has been destroyed.
        All ships are aligned vertically or horizontally.
        To confound the enemy, try to keep your ships away from one another.
        The most important ship is the smallest one as it is the hardest to find at random.
